Happy Autumnal Equinox! Today is Day 2 of my four days off, so far I’ve got coffee for myself and Matteo, played with the kittens, read about tarot, watched part of the new religion for breakfast video, and generally vibed. my stomach is pretty upset today so I am moving very slowly, but I’m hoping that after I’ve written a little I’ll have the energy to bop around and get some errands done.

I pulled the Fool card, reversed, a few days ago and only got around to reflecting on it this morning. Apparently the Fool is often viewed as a protagonist who travels through the journey of the major arcana. I’ve been consistently impressed by my past experiences with tarot and I’m enjoying using my current deck for marking time and slowly learning the cards’ meanings. Yesterday (or was it the day before?) I ordered a new deck, The Philosopher’s Tarot, produced by Craig from Acid Horizon. The cards won’t actually be printed and shipped till November 8 (18 Brumaire CCXXXI for those of you who follow the Republican Calendar) and since they are coming from the UK, I expect they’ll be awhile before arriving. They look cool as hell tho, and I’m hoping that by the time they get here I’ll be more practiced at vibing the cards.

Today on a whim I pulled two cards, the Queen of Pentacles and Seven of Wands. Both cards are beautiful, with the Queen holding a celestial orb/star/disk/pearl and the Seven displaying a long haired, tough looking lady holding a quarterstaff facing off against six moree rods asymmetrically arranged. Apparently wands/staves/staffs represent energy, growth, qi, &cetera &cetera. The Pentacles or Coins are supposedly more earthly/worldly/materialistic, but I don’t get that vibe from my deck at all.

Both cards seem relatively optimistic, with 7 of Wands representing success, flourishing, ongoing activity representing and Queen of Pentacles prosperity, the later of which I don’t super feel finances wise though my room/apartment/altar/cats do feel really comfy so maybe that’s something that clicks.
