on poetry 1 [cryptic mousetrap]

The Teacher said,

By all means, be cryptic:
the soul is a cryptic mousetrap
and we are but so many broken springs

But go and learn what this means:
you shall conduct your translations
through the giving of pomegranates to children
for I have buried my gospel
in the ribbons which run down their chins
