hmm,if you travel backwards around the galaxy at N ≥ ftl, you would travel back in time a rate of N - C. traveling in a circle could be handy cause you could have reusable acceleration machines. of course getting this machine up and running would be so taxing and life changing that you would never turn it off, but you would only be able to go back in time to pasts which have a counter•wise timestream to slow down against.
