that's nice R, though my own thoughts on work diverge rather sharply from Emerson here. i had a pretty stressful day and haven't written very much yet. maybe I'll get some done before bed but I've got work tomorrow so i need to sleep much earlier then my body would prefer to. (i want to clarify that i didn't do most of the things on that list earlier, that was more of my menu from which i think i got maybe 2.5 things done. my philosophy of scheduling is intentionally much more flexible, i think rather then minimaxing efficiency (viz. what i used to do) i try to approach my day more in terms of dialectics between what i need to do, what i am capable of doing at what cost, what i want to be doing in the moment, and the kind of habits i want to form in the nearish-farish terms

my boyfriend was recently telling me about a certain kind of i think it was disability philosophy which was like, plan for your worst day, you can add things on as opportunities arise, and you can seek out those opportunities, but having viable fallback plan(s) is the starting point

worst days are pretty frequent for me, and quite bad days are much frequenter, so this model has some pretty obvious benefits to me
